Joe Krider, 86 formerly of Sugar Grove, Il died on Saturday, December 26th at Presence St. Joseph’s in Freeport.  He was born on November 24,1934 to the late Marvin and Myrtle (Marlatt) Krider in Danville, Il.  He graduated from Danville High School in 1952.  He attended 1 year at Illinois State University where he was on the wrestling team.  He then went onto enter the Army and he served in the Korean War.

He married Margaret Israel in January of 1963 and together they raised 3 children.  He worked for General Mills for 31 years retiring as a supervisor.  He loved to go camping and fishing, especially with the men in his family and co-workers on ‘guy’ fishing trips.  In his retirement he also enjoyed wood working and golfing.  He was a die-hard Cardinals Fan and he loved to spar with any Cubs fan, including his own brother, John.

He is survived by his wife of Freeport, his children, Michael Krider of Rochelle; Tricia (Jeffery) Meyer of Winnebago and Kelly Krider of Rockford.  He also leaves behind a sister, Glenda Greene of Danville, IL.

His legacy includes 8 grandchildren, Emily (Bryan) Kane of Chicago; Lin (Rachael) Meyer of Aurora, Il; Rebecca (Chris) Chapman of Colorado Springs, CO; Madison Krider, Michaela Krider and Maggie Krider all of Yorkville; Kael Krider and Kendal Krider both of Belvidere, Il; and 2 great grandchildren Finley and Rory Kane of Chicago, Il.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his older brother and sister-in-law, John (Barb) Krider and his younger brother, Wally Krider.
