Joe Hacker, 87 of Centralia passed away Thursday, March 15, 2018, at SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital. He was born January 21, 1931, in Bartelso, son of Edward Hacker, Sr., and Ida (Vandeloo) Hacker. He married June Dodillet on July 3, 1954, in Sandoval at the St. Lawrence Church Rectory and she preceded him in death on Friday, June 28, 2013.

Joe is survived by two sons: Ronald Hacker and wife Theresa of Centralia, Robert Hacker and special friend Nancy Shoen of Springfield; five grandchildren: Kirk Hacker and wife Carol of Neoga, Gina Allen and husband Bob of Greenville, Laura Weston and husband James of Springfield, Joseph Hacker and wife Dovie of Springfield and Sarah Hacker and Fiancé Keith of Pawnee; several great-grandchildren, a brother: Richard Hacker and wife Marcie of Albers, three sisters: Mary Kampwerth and husband John, Doris Tadlock of Carlyle, Loretta Traveline of Ohio, and many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, brothers;  Wilbert, Robert, Alvin, and Eddie, Jr., sister; Estelle”Dollie” Vonalst, brothers-in-law: Bill Tadlock and Joe Traveline. Joe was a mechanic for the Natural Gas Plant in Hoffman. He was a Veteran of the Army Infantry. Joe was a member of the Centralia Elks, Knights of Columbus, V.F.W, Post 2055, American Legion Post 446, Catholic War Veterans, and the Centralia Moose Lodge 1219.  He loved gardening, hunting, and spending time with his family.
