Joe Franklin Helton of Waldron, Arkansas passed from this life, Saturday, November 14, 2015 in Blackfork, Arkansas. Joe was born February 9, 1942 in Wynoka, Oklahoma to James E. and Icy Beatrice (Essman) Helton. Joe was 73 years, 9 months and 5 days old.

Joe retired from the Waldron School District as a janitor for 24 years, he helped build the First Baptist Church in Waldron, Arkansas and was a member of the Nella Fire Dept. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his family.

Joe leaves behind to cherish his memory: five daughters, Janet and husband Jason Neill, Lavada and husband Kenny Allen, JoAnna Rose, Dorothy and husband David Preston, Nancy and husband Kenny Lynch all of Waldron, Arkansas; one son Joe Helton, Jr. and wife Tressa of Waldron, Arkansas. Pappy will forever remain in the hearts of his twenty two grandchildren; thirty nine great-grandchildren. Joe is also survived by two sister, Anna Bottoms and Judy Howell of Waldron, Arkansas two brother, James Helton and wife Kathy, and Grady Helton and wife Robin all of Waldron, Arkansas. Joe will be missed by all that knew him and the many whose lives were impacted by him including a large extended family of nieces and nephews, a host of friends, neighbors, and hunting buddies.

Joe was preceded in death by his loving wife of 50 years, Willie D. Helton, his parents, one brother, Bobby Helton and one grandson, Jimmy Dale Frederick.
