It is with heavy hearts that the family of Jocelyne Ferdinand of Boynton Beach, FL, announces her passing on July 2, 2015, at the age of 67 years. A beloved wife, mother and grandmother, Jocelyne passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by her family.
She was born on September 16, 1947 in Port-Au-Prince, Haiti, to Etienne and Anna Augustin. She was the loving sister of Jean-Marie Augustin, Gladys Augustin, Eric Augustin, Edwidge Augustin, Hervé Augustin (deceased) and Lyonel Augustin.
After attending college in Montreal, she moved to Boston, MA. Later, Jocelyne lived in Poughkeepsie, NY, but spent most of her life in Shelburne, VT, where she had a successful career. After retiring, she and her husband moved to Boynton Beach, FL to escape the cold winters of Vermont. She definitely enjoyed the warmer weather.
Jocelyne will be remembered by her infectious laughter, quick wit, and feistiness. These are the qualities that made her endearing to all who met her. She was happiest when surrounded by her family and dedicated her life to nurturing and protecting them. It is, in part, for this reason that her nickname was Mommy Bear.
Jocelyne will be lovingly and eternally remembered by her husband of 45 years, Joseph; children, Gaétane (husband Warren Borders) and Joseph Emmanuel; grand-children, Justin and Jessica; and her extended family.
