Joanne S. Valentine, age 86, passed away on Saturday, December 23, 2017 at her home in Gainesville, VA. She was born on March 22, 1931 in Washington, D.C. to the late Orville M. Slye, Sr., and Harriette A. (Blair) Slye. Predeceased by her parents and husband Clayton Burl Valentine. Survivors include one brother: Orville “Bud” M. Slye, Jr. (Anita) of Langhorne, PA; three nieces: Cindy Mellor (George) of Gilbertsville, PA; Karen Karmilowicz (Peter) of Ellicott City, MD and Debbie Brady (Jack) of Bristow, VA. Also surviving are numerous great nieces and great nephews; and extended family.
