Joanne L. Shuman, 78, of East Allen Township, passed away on Sunday, November 23, 2014 in Lehigh Valley Hospital “” Muhlenberg. She was the wife of the late Robert D. Shuman, who passed away in 2002. Born in Allentown, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Walter and Evelyn (Hughes) Haney. Joanne was a 1954 graduate of Allentown High School. She worked for many years as a Lab Technician at the former Western Electric until retiring. Joanne enjoyed gardening, animals, cooking for her family and many arts and crafts. Survivors: Sons, Scott D. Pechacek and his wife Donna of Germansville, Tracy L. Pechacek and his wife Susan of Hartley, DE, and Todd C. Pechacek, with whom she resided; sister, Kathleen Kirkpatrick and her husband Jeff of Bath; 5 grandchildren, Scott, Jr., Ashley, Alex, Jason and Chase; several step-children and their families. Joanne was preceded in death by a sister Nancy J. James.
