Joanna Jewell Mangels (nee Kezar) was the last of 9 children born to Lee Kezar and Signa Granell in 1937. She began her life on a farm outside Kremlin Montana, before moving to the bigger town of Havre, where she remained until making several moves with her husband and children. They eventually ended up in Littleton Colorado in 1973, where she has lived since. She was widowed at a young age when her husband M. Warren Mangels died in 1978 at 46. She tragically lost her son, Philip Mangels, in 2020. She is survived by one sister, Patti Walen of Great Falls Montana, her daughter Jan Mangels (Masoud Haddadi) and grandchildren Joshua Mangels (Alice & great grandsons Oliver and Charles) of Bermuda, Megan Mangels of Portland Oregon and Hannah Haddadi of Littleton Colorado.

She loved to garden; everyone especially loved the fresh-corn feast at our Columbine Hills home. She was a fierce fan of the Denver Broncos and loved to travel. Her second husband, Harold “Hal” Olson, and she made many trips that included Europe and various cruises to warm and cold climes. She retired as an assistant from Lockheed Martin.

The one thing we all agree on is Joanna was tough. She survived many trials and tribulations to enjoy life, her family and her friends. She passed on August 6, 2021.
