Joann Santos passed away on January 4, 2023 after a life long battle with diabetes. She was a beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Her family was her sole focus, and she worried over and took care of them until the end, sometimes to the exclusion of her own needs.
JoAnn was a fierce woman holding fast to her beliefs, defending those she loved, renowned for her mouth, not holding back her opinion and a knack for telling it like it is. She always told you the truth even if it wasn’t what you wanted to hear. She was incredibly creative and artistic. She was happy to draw and create so many beautiful things for others.
After Graduating with a MS in social work from LIU she went on to begin her career helping children and parents. A caretaker until her disabilities forced her into retirement.
