Our dear mother JoAnn Marie Mahaney, age 80, passed away peacefully on February 17th, 2022, at Montrose Memorial Hospital surrounded by her loved ones. JoAnn was born January 31st, to Naomi Elanor Simms and Robert Manford Roberson. She married Johnnie Mahaney from Riffle, Colorado and had three beautiful daughters; Susan, Rhonda, and Mykah. JoAnn was fierce, loyal, determined, strong, and had the biggest & most giving heart. Her and her husband, Johnnie, founded ‘Mahaney Stables’ in Vail, Colorado, which included a local weekly Rodeo. They went on to produce Rodeos in Snowmass Colorado, and Keystone Colorado. In the 1970’s, the family moved to Scottsdale, AZ, and continued with their dude ranch operation and weekly rodeos. In the 1980’s their passion for horses led them back to Colorado and the race Horse Industry.

JoAnn was preceded in death by her husband, Johnnie, and her mother, Naomi. JoAnn, left behind her three daughters, her brother Albert Roberson, her two sisters Jenny Nelson and June Bagley, her five grandchildren; Jesse, Sheyanne, Tegan, Kylan, and Trinity.
