Joann, the daughter of Clayton and Mary (Palmer) Mentzer, was born on November 28, 1952, in Des Moines. She graduated from SE Polk High School in 1971.
Those left to honor Joann’s memory are her husband, Carroll White of Des Moines; two sons, Patrick (Veronica) White of Newton and Matthew White of Pella; three grandchildren, Michael (Sierra) White, Michelle White, and Vivian White; her great-grandchild, Theodore; siblings, Patricia Christensen of Des Moines and Ronald (Eve) Mentzer of Georgia; sister-in-law, Sally Mentzer of Des Moines; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Michelle White; brother, Dennis Mentzer; and brother-in-law, Gary Christensen.
