Joan Barrow of North Haven formerly of West Haven, wife of the late John Barrow passed away at CT Hospice in Branford with her loving family by her side on Saturday May 28, 2011. Mother of Mark Thomas (fiancé Danna Lambert) and Marcie Scalia. Step mother of Pamela (Kenneth) Wolfe. Beloved grandmother of Michael (girlfriend Christina Zaccheo), Russell, Brittney, Lizann, Casey and Christopher. She is the sister of Marie (Roger) Morgan and Joseph (Kate) Blake. She also leaves behind her brothers in law William Barrett and Robert (Laura) Barrett and her sister in law Peggy Barrett. Joan is survived by her close friends Joan Quinn, Jane French and her best friend Lucille Hines. Joan worked for the New Haven Board of Realtors until her retirement and was an avid UCONN Basketball and Boston Red Sox fan. She will always be remembered for her generous, caring and thoughtful ways that have touched the lives of many. Joan’s family would like to thank Dr. Katz and his staff and CT Hospice in Branford for their compassionate care of their mom.
