Joan L. Brayton,86, of Elkhart, met Jesus face to face on Wednesday, Nov. 9, 2016 at 8:36 am following a brief illness at Valley View Kindred Nursing Facility of Elkhart, and then reunited with the love of her life, her husband Don, and danced a dance of joy!
She was born in South Bend on Oct. 22, 1930, to the late Joseph and Ida (Heffner) Drake, Sr., and later married Donald G. Brayton on Dec. 10, 1951. He passed away in Elkhart in 2011. She is also preceded in death by a brother, Joseph Drake, Jr. and a sister, Marilyn Drake.
Surviving are sons Russell “Russ”(Toni) Brayton of Elkhart and Robert (Pamala) Brayton of Houston, TX; 8 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren with another on the way!
