Joan J. Leonhard, 78 years, of Virginia, IL diedDecember 22, 2006 at her winter residence in Donna, Texas.

She was born January 27, 1928 in Jacksonville, IL; the daughter of Jimmie and Margaret Thompson Jones. She married Norman K. Leonhard on August 14, 1949 at the Arenzville United Methodist Church in Arenzville, IL and he survives.

She is also survived by three daughters, Karla Daubs (husband, Howard â??Hankâ?) of Mason City, Lois Dotzert (husband, John) of rural Virginia, and Marie Parlier (husband, Bob) of Virginia; six grandchildren, Tina Weller (husband, Ralph) of Beardstown, Shawn Daubs (wife, Carmen) of Lincoln, Jeremy Dotzert of rural Virginia, Mandy Lyons (husband, Brad) of rural Virginia, Jim Parlier (companion, Rebecca Elam) of Spring Valley, and Chris Parlier (wife, Simone) of rural Virginia; five great grandchildren; a sister, Jeanette Jones (husband, Bill) of Jacksonville; and several nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her parents.

Mrs. Leonhard was a graduate of Virginia High School and upon graduation worked a few years for a book bindery in Jacksonville. She served several years as a school bus driver for the Virginia School District and was involved with her husband in numerous business ventures in the Virginia area including Leonhard Apartments, Red Shed Antiques, Wash Bucket Laundromat, and Highway House Restaurant. She was a member of Shiloh Cumberland Presbyterian Church in rural Virginia. A former volunteer leader, she was dedicated to the area 4-H program and devoted numerous hours to the Cass County 4-H Fair for many years.
