She was born November 12, 1940 in Bay City, Michigan and has resided here all of her life. Joan started her career as a dispatcher for the Essexville Public Safety and she retired as one of the original dispatchers for Bay County 911.Joan is survived by her children; Gordon F. McCarty Jr. of Pierson, Dawn M. (Christopher) Abbs of Pierson, MI, Tracy A. McCarty of Kawkawlin, MI and Kevin A. (Heidi) McCarty of Bay City, four grandchildren; Brady A. Abbs, Spencer P. Abbs, McKenzie D.P. Lee and Hunter J. Lee, two sisters and two brothers-in-law; Kay S. (James) Behmlander and Sandi E. (Thomas) VanTol of NC, one brother and sister-in-law; Fred S. (Becky) Thompson of Bay City and several nieces and nephews.
