Joan F. Stout was born in Moscow, Idaho on Feb. 15, 1940. The daughter of Elvon and Betty Hampton. Joan attended school and graduated from Genesee High School. Music has always been a big part of Joan’s life. Joan attended summer music camps at the University of Idaho in Jr. High and High School. She performed solos every year for competition at music festival in Lewiston. She was also a member of the Future Homemakers of America, and student body treasurer. Joan attended the University of Idaho and was a member of Vandaleers, majoring in vocal, piano and organ. She then taught piano and voice privately for 45 years.
