Joan passed away at her home on Wednesday, October 12, 2016 at the age of 79. She was born on September 6, 1937 in Kalamazoo, MI a daughter of Glenn and Orah (Campbell) Eldred and had been a lifelong area resident. She worked at Georgia Pacific, Gibson Guitar, Shakespeare and Buck Forkardt before retiring. Joan was a devoted member of First Free Will Baptist Church in Comstock for over 40 years.
She enjoyed giving back to her community by serving as a Foster Grandparent at Senior Services; a tutor and mentor with the Kalamazoo Public Schools; and a volunteer at Borgess Medical Center. Joan was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Phil, Arlo and Frank Eldred; a sister, Aline Mouldenhauer; and three husbands, Donald W. Barnes, John T. Shelton and Thomas J. Wadsworth.
She is survived by three Daughters, Cathiern (Steve) Wagner of Battle Creek, Crystal (James) Engelman of Portage and Donna (Charles) Harger of Parchment; twelve grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and a sister, Ardith Vine of Comstock.
