Joan B. Fowler
Joan Low Brown Fowler passed away quietly on Monday, January 6, 2014, after a brief illness. She was 83 years old.
She was born to the late Frederick G. Brown & Grace E. Lustig of Rhode Island, the middle child of 6 children. She was married in 1958 to the late Sherman W. Fowler, and had called Connecticut home for over 50 years, first as a resident of Stamford for many years, and lately of Southbury. She was a trained surgical nurse who loved to help people, as well as being a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed people and social activities of all kinds, as well as travel. She traveled to many countries and continents and it was one of her greatest loves.
She had two children, a son, the late John W. Fowler, and a daughter, Marilyn Fowler Brownjohn, both of Bethel, CT. She is also survived by her three grand-children Edward Brownjohn & Elizabeth Brownjohn, both of Bethel, CT, and Sebastian Fowler, of San Diego, California, as well as her surviving sisters Lois Brown Russell of New York, Hedwig Brown Neale of Rhode Island, and Claire “Dusty” Brown of Sydney, Australia, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
She will be deeply missed by all.
