Doris “Little Jo” Foster Bourne, 89, of Jacksonville, died Thursday, May 14, 2015, at Heritage Health in Jacksonville. She was born Nov. 29, 1925, in Tulsa, OK, the daughter of Miles and Eva Floy Neal Allen. Upon her mother’s death, she was adopted and raised by her uncle and aunt, Scott and Peggy Richardson Neal. She married Robert R. Carr and he preceded her in death. She then married Joe E. Foster, Jr. and he preceded her in death. Later in life, she married Phil Bourne and he also preceded her in death.
She is survived by her daughter, Catherine Ann Carr Large of Jacksonville; son, Joe E. Foster III of Palm Springs, CA; four grandchildren, Angela Large Zachary, Jim (Jodi) Large, Christina Foster and Joe Foster IV; and three great-grandchildren, Nick Cosgriff, and Madison and Conor Large. She was preceded in death by her parents and her adopted parents.
Mrs. Bourne was a member of Central Presbyterian Church in Russellville, AR and attended Centenary United Methodist Church in Jacksonville. While in Jacksonville, Jo was a member of the Pilot Club and had been a driver for the Senior Citizen’s Bus. She enjoyed playing bridge.
