James “Jimmy” Charles Dunn, 73, of Milford, passed away on Sunday, December 4, 2022. Born in Bridgeport on December 8, 1948, he was the son of the late John Leonard and Helen Hudak Dunn.

Shortly after his birth, Jim and his parents moved to Milford. Jimmy, as he was well known as, became a lifelong Milford resident and truly a “man about town”. Jim’s life was a challenge from the very start but he conquered each and every obstacle and exceeded all expectations. He was a truly remarkable person.

Jim attended Milford Public Schools, West Main Street and Milford High School, before continuing his education at Southern Connecticut State University. Over his lifetime he was employed by several local companies before eventually retiring from Stop and Shop.

Jim was passionate about what he enjoyed most. From an early age he had a love of model trains as well as radios, which he would collect and repair after toting them home in his wagon. Jim had extensive knowledge of music; specifically Rock n’ Roll. He could beat just about anyone on music trivia from the 1950’s and onward. Jim also loved to sing, his unique singing style brought his family many smiles throughout the years.

Jim also enjoyed traveling, especially by train.

Jim was a rabid follower of politics and news. He truly enjoyed the Democrat’s success in recent election cycle.

Jimmy D. was a 34-year friend of Bill W. He was a constant reminder and inspiration to so many in the program that even the most difficult obstacles can be overcome. He passed away as he lived: a sober, funny, loving, stubborn, and very brave man.

Jim is survived by his eight siblings: Marianne (Joseph) Sciuto, Christine Dunn, Patricia (Dale) Cann, Rosemary (Alan) Peters, John (Melody) Dunn, Margaret (Jeff) Miller, Michael (Angela) Dunn, and Robert (Bonnie) Dunn; and his many nieces, nephews, and extended family members. He was predeceased by his brother, Joseph Dunn; and beloved niece, Annie Dunn.
