He is preceded in death by his parents Alfred Freeman and Ellen Brown Freeman. He is survived by his wife Sara Cook Hamilton and children Scott (Lisa) Hamilton and Cary (Jennifer) Hamilton. He is also survived by grandchildren Zoe Hamilton, Rafe Hamilton and siblings Patsy (Gerry) Martin, Bob (Francine) Hamilton, Alfred (Holly) Freeman and Chuck (Brenda) Freeman.
