Mr. Jimmie L. Hattaway, Sr., age 89, of Valley, Alabama passed away on Thursday, January 28th, 2021 at his residence. He was born on July 24th, 1931 in Coffee County, Alabama to the late Robert Franklin Hattaway and Mattie Rebecca Hattaway.
Mr. Hattaway is survived by his wife of 52 years, Madie Hattaway; his son, Jimmie (Kathy) Hattaway, Jr.; his daughters, Brenda Austin, and Teresa (Steve) Flournoy; his grandchildren, Christy (James) Brantley, Chris (Cheryl) Duck, Michael Hattaway, Selena Hattaway, Scott Flournoy, and Teri Flournoy; nine great grandchildren; two who were like his children, Cole Moore and Beth Moore; his brothers, Coley Hattaway and Robert Hattaway.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Garon Tidwell; his grandson, Jeffrey Austin; his sisters, Daphene Spear and Katrine Bundy; his son-in-law, Joe Mack Austin.
Mr. Hattaway was a member of West Side Baptist Church. He was a U. S. Army veteran, serving in the Korean War. He worked in the Card Room of Lanett Mill for 42 years as a maintenance fixer until his retirement.
