Jimmie Joe Jacobs, 84, of Pendleton, passed away on August 8, 2013 at Saint Vincent Anderson Regional Hospital Anderson, IN.
He was born on June 13, 1929 in Pendleton, Indiana and resided most of his life in Pendleton. Jimmie graduated from Pendleton High School. He was a retired Security Officer for Guide Lamp Corporation, and he was a land surveyor for many years. He was a member of The Masonic Lodge Lapel #625, The Order of Eastern Star #457, and The York Rite Bodies of Anderson. He loved bird watching, working puzzles, spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren, and fishing.
Jimmie is survived by his loving spouse whom he married July 2, 1947, Helen Gibson Jacobs, son, Roger C. Becky Jacobs of Pendleton, IN, and sister, Gloria M. Hightower of Whitesburg, TN. Daughter-in-law, Sue Jacobs, grandchildren, Rodney Patty Jacobs, Ryan Lorri Jacobs, Jimmie Jacobs, Eleanor Brian Summers. Great-grandchildren, Joseph, Daniel, Gabriel, Abigail, Zachary, Paul, and Mary-Jane. Special nephew, Tim Hightower. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Horace and Eleanor Jacobs, sons, Paul A. Jacobs, Gerald A. Jacobs, and Kevin L. Jacobs, sister and brother-in-law, Beverly A. and Robert C. Carter. Brother-in-laws, Robert Hightower and Robert H. Gibson.
