Jimmie Lee Hand Jr., 47, resident of Silver City passed away Friday September 17, 2010 at La Posada Hospice Center in Las Cruces.
He was born October 4, 1962 in Deming to Carolyn Ann Moore and Jimmie Lee Hand Sr. He attended area schools and lived in Arizona for some time. At a young age he began work at Gila Regional Medical Center and returned there to work as a project developer assistant in information technology. He was a member of the Catholic Church.
Survivors include his mother, Carolyn Ann Luna of Fort Bayard; daughter, Kaitlynn Rose Hand, Chandler, AZ; 2 sisters, Johnnie Ann Baker of Silver City and Cheryl Lee Legarda and husband Danny of Bayard; 2 nephews, Charles ‘Gordie’ Ruble, LA and Kyle Legarda of Bayard. His former wife, Pamela Cruz, also survives. Besides his very extended host of friends he was very fond of the friendship he had in James Marshall, Rob Ramirez, Norma Atkinson, Shaun Housley, Judy Brown and Jesse Doubrava.
Preceding him in death were his father; paternal grandparents, Hubert and Jane Hand and maternal grandparents, Jack and Niomi Moore and brother in law, Billy Ray Baker.
