Jimmie Brown, Jr. was born on February 19, 1937, in Mississippi, the son of Jim Brown, Sr. and Moudie Quinn. He received his education in the public school system. Jimmie was united in marriage to Lucy Ann Moore on August 16, 1963. Two sons were born from their union, Kendrick and Samuel. Although he often said he was a “jack of all trades, but master of none,” friends and family saw him as a master of many trades, especially carpentry. He worked as a carpenter for the Chicago Housing Authority for many years before retiring in 2001. In 2010, Lucy Ann and Jimmie officially moved to Denver, Colorado to help care for family.
