James Dean Rosenkrance, 55, of Mackay, Idaho, passed away February 29, 2016, at the Hospice House of Eastern Idaho in Ammon, Idaho.
Jim was born August 20, 1960, in Salmon, Idaho, to Howard F. Rosenkrance and Estella “Snooky” Smith Rosenkrance Ziegler. He grew up and attended schools in Cobalt, Challis, and Mackay, and graduated from Mackay High School. He also attained advanced training and schooling in road construction and heavy equipment operation.
Jim worked many construction jobs all over the west. He loved operating heavy equipment and when he had a boss, “that knew what he was doing,” he loved his job. He was particular to a fault when grading a road.
Jim loved being outdoors especially high adrenaline activities with his father. Snowmobiles and motorcycles were his favorite. The faster and higher he could go the better. He would push it to the limit wheelying a motorcycle for many blocks or taking a snowmobile as high as it could go. Jim was also an excellent water and snow skier.
Jim was a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers.

sister, Donna (Jim) McKelvey of Mackay, ID;
sister, Becky (Tom) McGowan of Challis, ID;
brother, Jerry Rosenkrance of Challis, ID.
sister, Mary Oates of Eagle, ID.

He is also survived by many nephews and nieces whom he loved and was very proud.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Estella “Snooky” Smith Rosenkrance Ziegler; Grandparents, Francis and Lola Bradshaw Rosenkrance; and Grandparents, Leo. E. and Gladys “Cookie” Pfeiffer Smith.
