Jillian Louise Casson, beloved daughter of Adrienne Casson of Colorado Springs and sister of Jay (Darcie), also of Colorado Springs, passed away in January, 2022, in Denver. Jill was born on February 6, 1968, in Illinois and spent the earliest years of her life in Wisconsin.

Following family moves, she grew up in Florida, and then Colorado, which always drew her home, no matter how far she traveled. Jill’s birth was celebrated not only by her parents, but by her entire extended family. Jill was gifted with not only a bright mind but with real beauty. As the first grandchild in the family, Jill brought great joy, especially to her grandmother, Corinne Arnold. Her grandmother, aunts, and uncles could think of nothing more enjoyable than spending weekends on the Wisconsin farm where Jill and her parents lived. She was a bright and affectionate little girl who laughed easily and was alert and interested in the world around her, and like her mother, took great delight in the animals that were part of her early life. For the entirety of her life, Jill was sensitive to people for whom life was difficult, no matter the reason. She had a generosity of spirit and goodwill towards those who suffered misfortunes, regardless of the cause and, when possible, assisted them in their need. That sensitivity led Jill to become a devotee of the teachings of Sai Baba, whose philosophy espouses “a moral code of love, forgiveness, helping others, charity, contentment, [and] inner peace.” The rejection of materialism and the practice of non-discrimination were also aspects of the teachings that drew Jill to India to study at an ashram.
