Jeziclaire Romilus, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and sister also known as “Madam Bolo”, was born on May 9th, 1941, in the Sanoix Dessalines commune of Artibonite, Haiti. She was the second oldest child of six children of Ms. Inora Destin and Mr. Edma Romilus.
Jeziclaire spent a good portion of her life in her hometown where she completed all of her schooling. She worked as a vendor and spent her free time singing in the Ebenezer Baptiste Church’s all female choir as a soprano. She loved helping those in need and doing charitable work. She also loved music and enjoyed singing. Especially with her children, Wilbens, Watnel, Rosemane, PierreAndre and Edna, and her husband Andre.
In hopes of a better life for her family, Jeziclaire decided to leave Haiti and on August 12, 1978, she migrated to the United States. She lived in Elizabeth, NJ and was well known. While in the United States, she worked as a factory worker for several years at the Roma Bag company. After working tirelessly, she was able to bring her husband to the United States.
Jeziclaire continuously worked day and night to get her children and grandchildren into the country, which she eventually succeeded to do. She was also a member of The Church of God of Bethesda for many years.
She spent the remainder of her life living in Fords, NJ with her daughter Rosemane and her grandchildren. After months of health related fluctuations, on February 22nd Jeziclaire was admitted to JFK hospital in Edison, NJ. On February 27th, surrounded by love and comfort, Jeziclaire took her last breath. She was a phenomenal mother, grandmother, and great grandmother and leaves behind an incredible legacy. She was loved by all and will truly be missed.
Jeziclaire is preceded in death by her husband Andre Barthelus, her siblings PierreLyn Romilus and Lamot Romilus, both of her parents, and her great grandson Denzel Barthelus. She leaves behind all five of her children: Wilbens Barthelus, Watnel Barthelus, Rosemane Barthelus-Augustin, PierreAndre Barthelus, and Edna Barthelus.
Her children in law: Reverend Fred Augustin, Andre Deus, Mary-Denise Barthelus, Claudette Barthelus, and Zette Barthelus. Her Siblings: Anema Romilus, Emmanuel Romilus, and Esperanta Romilus. Her grandchildren: Wilgens, Loudenie & her husband Jean Jason, Evelyne, Fredlyne, Jessica, Sherley, Graison, Rose, Sophonie, Mackenzie, Dieunenne, Karen, Samaelle, Clevlande and her husband Darley, Godson, Bianca, Watvens, Kely, Wendy, Claude-Andy, Cassandre, Ansy, Jonathan, Moses,Nathaniel.
Her great-grandchildren: Deandre, Glorah, Isanie, Easton, Sasha, Rayne, Aaudrey, Iyla, Cameron, Brooke, Yazir, Aiden, Giannis, Kayden, Khylen, Kaycie, Makayla, Brielle, Kristin, Josiah.
And all of her wonderful nieces and nephews.
