Jessie Willis “Jay†Mason, 86, of 34 Rockford Rd., Collinsville, VA died Saturday, January 9, 2010 in the Memorial Hospital of Martinsville and Henry County. Born July 21, 1923 in Bassett, Mr. Mason was a son of the late Judson Taylor Mason and Ethel McGhee Mason and was preceded in death by two sisters, Phebe Mason Ransier and Etta Mason and by two brothers, Blaine Mason and Shockley Mason. Mr. Mason was a member of Stone Memorial Christian Church where he had served as a deacon and was retired from DuPont after 33 years. He had served in the United States Navy during WWII. Surviving are two daughters, Tania Mason Riddle of Collinsville and Tamala Mason Gardner-Bahorich of Davis, WV and by four grandchildren, Brandon and Bailey Riddle, Jarod Johnson and Taylor Gardner.
