Jessie Mechiel passed away at his home in Manassas, Virginia on Saturday, June 25, 2016. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Marian F. “Frankie” Graphia Mechiel; mother, Laura Maxine Hoover; sisters, Linda Allotto and Joan Mechiel; brother, Harold B. Hoover, Jr.; one niece, three nephews, several great nieces and great nephews; and many, many friends. Mr. Mechiel was a sweet and kind soul with a ready smile who never met a stranger, and was always willing to lend a helping hand to those who needed it. He was a native of Hammond, LA, and resided in Manassas, Virginia, for nearly 30 years. Mr. Mechiel was an electrician, and was a longstanding member of the Local 26 IBEW. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam conflict.
