Jerry L White of Lonoke passed away on Tuesday, January 14, 2014. Jerry was born on November 29, 1943, to John Henry and Marie Hoover White in Murfreesboro, Arkansas. He was a Communication Center Specialist in the U. S. Air Force as he served from 1963 to 1967. He worked with Gulf Oil Distributors for approximately 15 years through the North Little Rock terminal. He was an owner-operator for Bruce Oakley Trucking of North Little Rock for approximately 25 years.
He was preceded in death by his father John Henry White. He is survived by his wife Joyce. Jerry and Joyce were married for 47 years. He is also survived by his Mother Marie Hoover White, sons Jay White and Kenny St. John, daughters Julie Gardner of Lonoke and Kem Smith of Greenville MS, granddaughter Jessica Gardner of Lonoke, three brothers Darrah White (Nancy), Dean White of Lonoke, Johnny White of Cabot, three sisters Cherry Southerland (Jimmy), Beverly Clement (Jimbo) of Lonoke, Becky Shook (Lee) of Cabot, many nieces, nephews and a host of friends. He was a member of Central Arkansas Horseshow Association and was an avid horseman. He was also a member of the Boto and Wild Bunch Hunting Clubs in Murfreesboro, Arkansas. He was a loving husband, son, father, brother and uncle. He loved his family, friends, riding in horse shows and hunting. He loved the “Monday Family Nights at Ma-Maws”. He always had a calm gentle spirit and full of joy and laughter. He was a prankster! He was a great blessing to all who knew him.
