JERRY SANFORD KATZEN, age 72, of Gainesville, VA died Tuesday, December 17, 2002 at his home. Mr. Katzen was a retired Air Traffic Controller with the Federal Aviation Administration and a lifelong pilot and instructor. He was a member of AOPA and the Regal Flying Club. Mr. Katzen was a U.S. Air Force veteran. Survivors include his wife, Hedwig B. Katzen, two children, Mark A.L. Katzen, of Columbia, MD and Jeanette J. Smith, of Gainesville, VA, one brother, Elliott Katzen, of Palo Alto, CA and four grandchildren, Kelly Williams, Joshua Katzen, Monica Katzen and Elana Katzen.
