Jerry Boyd Vanhoy, 78, of Gold Hill, passed away Thursday, April 6, 2023, at his home.
Jerry was born July 2, 1944, in Stanly County, North Carolina to the late Charles Ira Vanhoy and the late Lillie Belle Huneycutt Vanhoy.
He was also preceded in death by brothers, Lane Vanhoy and Tom Vanhoy.
Survivors include wife of 59 years, Mildred Barbee Vanhoy of Gold Hill, NC; children, Arnold Vanhoy (Laura) of Richfield, NC, Renee Lambert of Gold Hill, NC, Sandra Carelock of Richfield, NC, and Scott (Robin) Vanhoy of Catawba, NC; grandchildren, Ashley Lambert, Gerri Lambert, James (Hannah) Carelock, Jessica (Jesse) Covington, Paul Carelock, Molly Vanhoy, Emma Vanhoy, Hannah Vanhoy, Jessie Wilkins, Jamie Wilkins, and Seth Wilkins; great-grandchildren, Miriam, Naomi, and Samuel; and siblings, Jean Stroupe, Sherrill Vanhoy, Don Vanhoy, Lynn Vanhoy, and Reggie Vanhoy.
Jerry was an electrician and a farmer. He was also a member and Deacon of Paul’s Crossing Baptist Church.
