She was born on October 8, 1929, in Noblesville, Indiana, to Wm. Glenn Heaton and Lucy (Jones) Heaton. Jerry was married on June 19, 1949 to the late Joe Francis Snyder, who passed away in 1972 at the age of 46.
Jerry graduated from Noblesville High School in 1947 and worked for the Hoosier Dairy and Hudler Press in Noblesville. A “city” girl who, in 1949, married the love of her life, Joe Snyder, moved to a farm in Arcadia, and became a young farm wife, raising chickens, feeding livestock, and driving grain trucks to the Cicero elevator, and bumping the family station wagon across rutted fields to deliver tailgate meals to the men working in the fields.
