Jerelene Yvonne Wright Tillman, daughter of the late Milfred L. Wright and Alice M. Fielder Wright was born October 15, 1937 in Tallapoosa County, AL. Jerelene accepted Christ into her life at an early age.
On November 12, 1955, she was united in marriage to Deacon Adam K. Tillman, Sr. To this union, four children were born, Adam K. Tillman, Jr., Milfred A. Tillman, Kimberly D. Tillman, and Mattie E. Tillman Coles.
After Jerelene’s family moved from her Alabama home to Chattanooga, Tennessee when she was a young child, they then moved to western Pennsylvania outside of Pittsburgh. Jerelene graduated from Beaver Area High School. Jerelene resided in the Midland, PA area for 58 years.
Jerelene , affectionately known as “Jerry” by some and “Sissie” by others, was a loving wife and mother, a devoted sister, matriarch of her family, and a woman of God who reached out to touch the lives of many. She was married for 50 years before losing her husband in 2005. She was a prayer warrior for her family, and she spiritually nourished not only her children, but her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She had a special love paired with the gift of helping young women in her community, and caring for those with disabilities.
Jerelene was preceded in death by her parents Milfred and Alice Wright, her son Adam Tillman Jr., her husband Adam Tillman Sr., and her sister Mary Alice Wright Hollis.
She now leaves to cherish her memory a son, Milfred Tillman; two daughters, Kimberly Tillman and Mattie Tillman Coles, all of Indianapolis; brother-in-law, Min. Anthony Hollis; niece, Leslie Hollis Mamon (Charles); grandsons Lance Stevens (Sophia), Devin Tillman (Katie), Joseph Tillman, Joshua Tillman, all of Indianapolis; Alfred Coles, Jr.
