Jeree Bellomy Harrington
April 4, 1934 – January 4, 2020
Bobbie Jeree Harrington, 85, of Sheridan, Arkansas went to meet her Heavenly Father on January 4th, 2020. She joins her husband of 68 years, Henry Conrad Harrington.
Jeree was the third child born to the late Luther and Irene Bellomy on April 4th, 1934 in Golden, Texas. She moved to Arkansas from Vidon, Texas in 1948 and graduated from Sheridan High School in 1951. During her time in the Sheridan School District she was a Halloween Maid (1948-1949), a member of the Home Economics Club (1948-1949), the Treasurer of the Pep Club (1949-1950), a cheerleader (1949-1950), and participated in the Junior Play (1949-1950). After marrying Conrad in 1950, the couple spent time living in Texas and Florida before returning to Sheridan where they would spend the rest of their lives together. Jeree worked at Rockwell Manufacturing Co. before becoming a stay-at-home mother and babysitter. She also enjoyed volunteering for the Grant County election polls.
In addition to her husband and parents, Jeree is preceded in death by her infant daughter, Donna Jo Harrington, and son-in-law, Rommie McDonald. She is also preceded by her sister, Louise Gathright, and brothers, Thomas and Jerry Bellomy.
Jeree is survived by her two children–Deborah (Ray) Gibson of Cherokee Village, and John (Leslie) Harrington of Sheridan, as well as her five granddaughters–Tara McDonald of Sheridan, Heather (Greg) Mouton of Sheridan, Jill (Erik) Havniear of Benton, Amber (Michael) Forbush of Sheridan, and Alison (David) Nguyen of Fayetteville. Additionally, she is survived by thirteen great grandchildren and a brother, Lindsey (Peggy) Bellomy.
Best known for her dedication to the church, Jeree was a long time member of New Life Fellowship where the pastor, Steve Cypert held a special place in her heart. Until her health began to decline, it was a rare occasion for her to miss a service, and when she had to miss a service she even learned how to listen to podcasts. She was always ready to declare her love for Jesus if she was ever called on to testify. When asked by a nurse in her final days if she was ready to go see her previously departed husband she replied “Well, I’d like to see my Jesus first.”
Jeree was an exceptional seamstress. Her granddaughters kept her busy making pageant dresses and hemming their always-too-long pants. She loved to quilt and spent many hours sewing alongside her life-long best friend, Ann Smith. Jeree was told many times throughout her life she could earn a fortune from her work; however, she always replied by saying it would no longer be fun if she were paid.
The family would like to thank Doctor William Highsmith and all of the wonderful doctors and nursing staff at the Arkansas Heart Hospital who saw to the care and comfort of Jeree during her final week. The family would also like to extend a special thank you to their friends and neighbors, Gary Don and Marilyn Easley of Sheridan, as well as their church family at New Life Fellowship Church.
