Jerald Earland Ohman died February 6, 2022, in St. George, Utah, from complications of Covid. He was the oldest of five children born July 14, 1935 to Earland Albin Ohman and Pearl Anita Hansen.

Raised and educated in Brigham City, Utah, he graduated from Box Elder High School, followed by a year at Weber College, prior to his service as an IC Electrician on the Destroyer DD717 in the US Navy during the Korean Conflict.  Following his service, he completed a Bachelor of Science degree in physics at San Diego State University.

His interests were wide and varied, from engineering to the financial services industry where he was President of sales organizations, two stock brokerage firms, and two public mutual fund investment companies. He owned and managed various private companies from manufacturing transformers to retail stores. He served on board of directors for both public and private companies. He was a financial counselor and tax advisor to many. He traveled for a year as a motivational speaker. He taught at San Diego City College and Cal Poly Pomona in the Physics Department.

He found great happiness as he actively bought, developed, and rented residential real estate. Many of his rental properties are located in his loved Brigham City. He loved life and gained great satisfaction meeting and talking with all people. Seldom was there a stranger to Jerry.

Jerry married Elaine Marie Horton in the Los Angeles Temple December 21, 1956. They had four children, Troy (Jeff), Kyle (Deanne), Julie (Tim) and Carla (Scott). Marie died May 16, 2015.  He married Beth Pickett Thatcher January 23, 2016, in the St. George temple.

He was a stalwart member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He loved studying, learning, and sharing the gospel with family and friends. He served in many church capacities including: Sunday school teacher, High Council, twice as a Bishop, Supervisor at the Los Angeles Temple, and four missions including three with his wife Marie.

Jerry leaves four children, twelve grandchildren, and 18 great-grandchildren.  He is survived by his wife, Beth, his brother Michael and sister, Evalie Brockway.
