Jennifer Nechey Coan of Moscow died unexpectedly at her home on Tuesday, October 11, 2016. She was 34. Jenny was born January 13, 1982 in Caldwell, Idaho to Michael Everly and Jacqueline E. Coan. The family moved to Moscow in 1989 where Jenny attended McDonald Elementary, and Moscow Junior and Senior High Schools, graduating in 1999. She lived in Oregon for a time and later returned to Moscow. She then worked variously before going to work for Eco-Analytics where she met her longtime partner, Jordan. While working at Good Samaritan she became interested in phlebotomy, obtaining her degree from Lewis-Clark State College. Jenny has been the Assistant Coordinator for the Idaho Stars Program at the University of Idaho for the past six years. Jenny enjoyed books, art, science, had a great love of animals and a wonderful sense of humor. Jenny’s infectious laugh filled the room. She had participated in several 5K charity runs. Recently she and Jordan travelled to Oregon for a musical performance and a trip up the coast. She was preceded in death by her father in 1997 as well as her grandparents, Col. Walter and Bertha Nechey and John and Lois Coan. Surviving are her partner of nine years, Jordan Howell at their Moscow home, her mother, Jackie Coan of Moscow, her brother Sean and best friend Rose Coan of Helena, MT and was loving called “Chacha” by her beloved nieces and nephews, Seamus, Harper, Finn and Sage. Also surviving are Jordan’s family, his parents Jerry and Paula Howell and his brother Jacob (Jodi) Howell and their children, Heather and Lily, all of Post Falls.
