Jeffrey Paul Davis, 53, of Newington, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 16, 2016 at his home surrounded by his loving family and puppies. Jeff had battled Multiple Myeloma for 9 months, always with a positive attitude and endless will to fight. Jeff was born on July 19, 1962 in Norwalk, CT, youngest son of Charles and Mary (Rooney) Davis. He was raised in New Britain, graduated from New Britain High in 1980 and attended Auto Trade School in RI. He most recently was employed by Stop & Shop Supermarkets. Jeff is survived by his wife of 25 years, Wanda Leary, whom he married April 21, 1990; two children he gave the world to every day of his life and loved beyond belief, Nolan Jeffrey Davis and Olivia Lee Davis, both of Newington; his foster parents, David and Donna Luce; his best friends: Mike Siering, Mark Stanton,Stan and Charlene Swanson, John and Ellie Marcello, and Diane and Tom Butcher; his brother, James (Betsy) Davis; his nieces: Diane (Andy) Fawcett, Courtney Watson, Brooke Leary, Christina Fawcett, Lisa Davis, Chantelle Watson and Ceniah Watson; his nephew, Robert Leary; his great nephews: Xavier Fawcett, George James; a special cousin, Martha (Richard) Demers; his In-Laws, Jerry and Nancy Leary; his brother-in-law David (Tammy) Leary, his grandmother-in-law, Deniege LaBarre; his dogs: Tyson and Baxter as well as a host of uncles, aunts and cousins from the Leary and LaBarre families. He loved time with his family, having his dogs walk/pull him daily, working out daily, attending car shows, attending sports events for his son and dance recitals for his daughter. Jeffrey spent a great deal of his time reading and was interested in politics and current events. After the loss of his nephew, Jeffrey enjoyed spending time with Xavier, his nephew’s son and seeing him smile. Jeffrey was a family man and would give all he had to see them happy. There was not a place Jeff went where he did not know someone, whether it was someone from the YMCA in the 80’s or a regular during his routine visits at the local stores. Jeff would always reminisce about the fun times he and Mike Siering had together growing up, their temporary residency in Daytona, FL, and their love for working on cars. He was always there for Nolan and Olivia’s friends too. Whether it was just to talk to or to be a chauffeur to them, Jeff wouldn’t think twice and always treated each and every one of them as his own. One thing everyone loved about Jeff and will never forget was his laidback lifestyle and his ability to see the bigger picture in life and laugh a lot. Knowing Jeff is in heaven with his family and friends gives us happiness and comfort now that he is no longer in pain and is with those who have missed him so much. Until we meet again…Jeff was predeceased by his parents: Charles and Mary Davis; sisters: Diane Fawcett and Doreen Watson; nephew, George Fawcett; best friend, Darrell Walker; aunt, Eileen Masi; cousin, Barbara Ann Lindwall, and brother, John Davis. The family wishes to thank the neighbors that gave their unending support and love to Jeff “The Keeper of Frederick Street” throughout this entire journey. The family also wishes to thank the following doctors: Doctors B. Byrne, A. Kahn, N. Goldberg, D. Rosenblum, J. Laubach, along with the staff of Central Ct Hospital (C5, East ICU, ER, W2), Cancer Center of Central CT, Gaylord Rehab (Lyman2), Bel-Air Manor and Dana Farber Institute who worked relentlessly to get Jeff to a better place with treatments and rehabilitation.
