Jeffrey Jay Jondro, age 57, of Breese, passed away peacefully at 8:51 am on Sunday February 20, 2022 at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield, IL with his loving family by his side. Jeff was born June 9, 1964 at Memorial Hospital in Belleville, IL, the son of Jackie Jondro Miller and the late Truman Jondro. Jeff grew up in State Park, IL where he attended Kreitner Elementary. He then attended Collinsville Junior High and High School and graduated Class of 1983. He was a member of St. John’s UCC Church in Breese. Jeff married Brenda Walk on October 18, 1997 and she survives in Breese. He worked at Grandpa Pigeon’s in Collinsville from 1981 until 1990. He started working at Eaton B Line and was there for 31 years and was the shipping and receiving coordinator at the time of his passing. He also owned and operated Triple J Chimney Service for 25 years. Jeff never met a stranger, always willing to lend a hand. He was an avid outdoors man and loved hunting, fishing, 4-wheeler riding, camping with family and friends, or just sitting around a fire. He loved to take a ride in his boat on the river with his lab, Rufus. He was well-known as Jeffro and Jethro and he enjoyed cooking, whether it was for just family, or a small or large group. He continues to help others after his passing as he was an organ and tissue donor. With his generous gifts and the help of Gift of Hope Foundation, others are going to have a second chance of life. A purple Gift of Hope flag was displayed for three days at St. John’s to honor Jeff. He was one of a kind and will be sadly missed. Jeff was preceded in death by his father, Truman Jondro; father-in-law, Everett Walk; grandparents, Edgar and Leona Jondro and Alvin “Bud” and Bessie Docter; step-father, Clarence Miller; and step-brother, Ed Miller.
