Jeffery Dwayne Brown was born on September 8, 1962, in Indianapolis, Indiana. He was the son of Betty Jean Poindexter and Clarence William Brown.

Jeffery received his primary education at Indianapolis Public Schools #20 and #108 and completed his secondary education at Emmerich Manuel High School.

Jeffery accepted Christ at an early age  and attended St.

From a young age, Jeff showed great ability in academics and art. In his teenage years, he could often be found reading comic books and listening to some of his favorite artists like Rick James and Prince. He was an avid reader and kept up on current events.

He loved a good party and was no doubt the life of the party when he entered the room. Because of his charismatic personality, people gravitated towards him. There’s no one he didn’t know, and he never met a stranger. If you knew Jeff, you knew he was king of the catchphrase. After every family get together, he would pack up all the left-overs which he called them “take-home-a-sacks”!

Jeff was a great cook, often cooking out in the park with family. In his younger days, he was well known for throwing house parties at his childhood home on St. Peter Street. He also enjoyed sneaking into the Twin-Aire Drive-in, watching Bruce Lee    movies at the Madame Walker Theatre, bowling, and fishing.

Jeffery Dwayne Brown departed this life on Sunday, July 14, 2019, at the age of fifty-six years. He was preceded in death by his mother, Betty Jean Poindexter and nephew, Dale Brown, Jr.

He leaves the cherish his memories his children, Keisha Pedigo Smith, MeBret Gillard, Sr., Kara Brown, Krista Renick, and Kamiah Thayer; father, Clarence William Brown; brothers, Dale Brown, Sr. (Linda)  and Vincent Brown (Elonda);  sister, Joan Danyial Hardiman (Kurtis); nieces, Tamiko Mendoze, Carmella Brown, Deja Brown, Samiyah Hardiman, Sanaiyah Hardiman and Najah Hardiman; nephew, Kurtis Hardiman Jr.;  oldest living cousins, Doris Jean Hudgins, Sherry Ann Williams, and Lawrence Dale, Sr.; and a host of other cousin and many friends.
