Jeannine M. DeGroot

Jeannine DeGroot, born in Bar sur Aube, France in 1933, passed away June 5, 2018 at New Dawn Memory Care after a long battle with Alzheimer’s. She has been a resident of Monument, CO since 2008.
She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Colonel Fred DeGroot, USAF (ret); her sons, Henry and Doctor Daniel Henley, Michael DeGroot; and grandchildren Kate, Chris, Ryan and Sean Henley.
Jeannine came to the United States in 1955. She attended business school and was employed as an accounting clerk at Columbia Records, Terra Haute, IN, as an executive secretary at Dayton Steel Foundry, Dayton, OH and McDonnell-Douglas Automation, St. Louis, MO. As a talented and artistic person, she pursued many hobbies over the years, including sewing, cooking, needle point, knitting, crocheting, drawing, oil painting and many arts and crafts projects. Jeannine loved all animals, especially dogs, cats and horses. Her happiest years were those spent riding and caring for her horses, although they were not always kind to her.
