Jeannine Ann (Rode) Miller, 85, of Windfall went home to her Lord and Savior on Friday, Nov. 1, 2019. She was born in Tipton on Dec. 12, 1933 to Erich E Rode and Jean Alice (Keeler) Rode. She married Jackie Lee Miller on June 10, 1951 and he preceded her in death on Nov. 26, 2014. One son, Clinton James Miller and three siblings preceded her in death: Gerald Rode, Allen Rode, and Barbara Lou Cox.
She graduated from Tipton High School and attended Seward Co. Community College in Liberal, KS where she earned her degree in 1987. This enabled her to work for several years in the medical field as a LPN.
Her friends and family will remember Jeannine as a nurturing and kind woman who was always willing to help and teach others. Her family lost count of the number of young women she taught to cook and sew throughout the years. She was a talented seamstress and worked at Tipton Hospital, where she made draperies and sheets for the entire two-story hospital. Jeannine was a 4H Leader, and member of the Handy Hands Home Ec Club.
Jeannine was also a member of the Lions Club International and was designated a Melvin Jones Fellow by her district while living in Southwest Kansas.
Throughout Jeannine‘s life, she ministered to those around her. Sometimes her ministry came through sharing fresh baked cookies with her neighbors or being a caretaker for sick loved ones. She looked for opportunities to help others and was a generous woman, who sacrificed her time and money, supporting local, state, and foreign missions.
Even after Jeannine became ill with Rheumatoid Arthritis, she found ways to encourage those around her while being a bright light for the Lord!
Those left to carry on Jeannine‘s legacy include her children; Teresa Miller of Hooker,OK, David (Karen) Miller of Jacksonville, NC, Kurt (Dalita) Miller of Windfall, IN, Dwain (Sharetta) Miller of Hooker, OK; five grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, two great grandsons, eight step great-grandchildren; a brother, Dennis Rode of Tipton, IN; and two sisters, Evelyn Howery of Sun City West, AZ, and Eileen (Galen) Eberhart, of Auburn, IN; and many nieces and nephews.
