Jeannette P. Blackwell, 83, of Sycamore, passed away on Thursday, August 26, 2010 at the residence of her daughter following an extended illness. She was born in Akron, Ohio on August 7, 1927 a daughter of the late Charlie and Ethel Gould Payton. She was married to Hobert Blackwell, who preceded her in death in 1968. Surviving are one son, Shannon David Blackwell and his wife Debbie, Sycamore; four daughters, Bedelia Leinbach and Ed Blume, Bridgeport, Leicia Prater, Bridgeport; Valerie Simons and her husband Jerry, West Milford, and Claudette Moore, Spartanburg, SC; nine grandchildren, Duane Blackwell, Jonas Blackwell, Aja Blackwell, Matthew Leinbach, Ashley Smith, Quinton Moore, Deloran Simons, Austin Simons, and Natalie Prater; two great grandchildren, Hope and Kayla; and several nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by three sisters, Garnetta King, Esther Lawrence and Edith Swiger. Mrs. Blackwell was Methodist by faith and attended Sycamore United Methodist Church.
