JEANNETTE M. DIEHL, age 97, of Arlington, VA died Monday, March 17, 2003, at Powhatan Nursing Home in Falls Church, VA. She had retired in 1970 from the Fairfax County School System after 20 years of service. She had also taught a total of 9 years in Mecklenburg, Prince William and Fauquier Counties. Mrs. Diehl was preceded in death by one son, Stanley Diehl and two brothers, Elbert quot;Thorntonquot; Matthews and Ellis Matthews. Survivors include her husband of 67 years, Paul P. Diehl, two sons, Phelps Diehl, of Arlington and C. Barton Diehl, of Alexandria and one daughter, Elaine D. Lucas and her husband, Joseph Lucas, Jr., of Arlington, and one sister, Eleanor Floyd, of Oklahoma City, OK.
