Jean Polizzi of Burlington Township passed away Friday April 29, 2016 at Cooper University Hospital, her family by her side. She was 81. Preceded in death by her parents, Maria and John Curiale and her brothers Jospeh and Phillip Curiale, Jean is survived by her husband of 62 years, Paul Polizzi, her children Lorraine Waxmonsky (Paul), Paul Polizzi, Jr., Jean Tuthill (Dave) and Gary Polizzi (Kelley), her sister Carol DiOrio (Al). Jean was the loving grandmother of Stacy George, Gary Martin, Jr. (Lauren), Bobby George (Brittany), Christopher Martin, Paul George (Alyssa), Paula Martin, Michael Martin, Gabriella Polizzi and Antonio Polizzi.
She was also great-grandmother to JaZelle Martin, Aeryana Collins, Carter George, Colin Martin and Brianna George. Jean was born in Newark, NJ and then as a young girl her family moved to Burlington when her father’s employer, J. Chein relocated. Later she worked for J. Chein, she also was employed by the Burlington Army Ammunition Plant, but was most proud of her nursing career at Rancocas Valley Hospital in Willingboro, where she cared for patients on the Cardiac/Pulmonary unit. After retirement she became an avid Philadelphia Phillies fan. She will be remembered for bringing laughter and fun with her wherever she went.
