Jean Marie (Markey) Campbell, 57, of Cromwell, beloved wife of Robert Campbell for 25 years, passed away on Wednesday, September 24th after a short illness at Middlesex Hospital. Born in Great Barrington, MA, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Elizabeth (Beaupre`) Markey. Jean lived in Cromwell for twenty-two years, taught History in the New Britain School System at the middle school level and worked in the telecommunication business for 15 years at Nortel, Nynex, and Wiltel companies as a project manger and sales representative. Jean was a huge live music fan and attended hundreds of concerts over the past three decades. She had a laugh that could only be described as infectious, she befriended stray cats and lost souls and always knew everyone’s name. Jean had a smile and personality that could light up any room. Besides her husband, she is survived by two brothers, William Markey of East Canaan and John Markey of North Canaan; one sister, Michelle Witowski of Northampton, MA; four nephews, Jason, Hunter, Dylan and James and four nieces, Payton, Amanda, Dale, and Erin.
