Jean M. Bohar, 73, of Freemansburg, passed away on Monday, January 19, 2015 in her home. She and her husband, Ernest C. “Ernie” Bohar, shared more than 42 years of marriage. Born in Shenandoah, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Esther (Blew) Humes. Jean was a member of the first graduating class of Mahanoy Area High School in 1960. She retired from K-Mart, where she worked in the Electronics Department. Jean was a member of the Heights Athletic Association and ICC (Independent Citizen Club). She was also a member of St. Johns Windish Evangelical Lutheran Church in Bethlehem. Survivors: her loving husband, Ernie; daughters, Jody Fliter and her husband Jack of Bethlehem Twp. and Penny Weiss and her husband Timothy of Allentown; step-son, Ernest C. Bohar, Jr. and his wife Denise of Freemansburg; sisters, Christine Tinari and her husband John of Sugarloaf, PA and Elizabeth Stefanov and her husband Robert of Okeechobee, FL; sister-in-law, Olga Wiktor of Bethlehem; 6 grandchildren, Kayla, Lacey, Tiffany, Jenna, Christopher and Eric. Jean was preceded in death by her son William Brinsko in 1991 and a brother Charles Humes.
