Jean L. Stoll, 85, of Bethlehem passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, July 15, 2018, while in the care of the St. Luke’s Hospice House. She was the wife of the late James L. Stoll who passed away in 1991 and companion of Arthur Piatt of Bethlehem.

Born in Bethlehem, she was the daughter of the late James W. and Margaretta (Purcell) Cope. She graduated from Bethlehem Catholic High School, class of 1951. Jean worked at First Star Savings Bank as a loan officer for 18 years before retiring in 1995. Previously, she had worked at Bethlehem Steel Corp. Jean was a member of the American Business Women Association and was recognized as Woman of the Year in 1999.

She was an active member of Holy Ghost Catholic Church, and its Prime Time Seniors. Jean was also a member of the St. Bernard’s Ladies Auxiliary and the Fountain Hill “Golden Hillers”. Jean volunteered at the Cancer Boutique, Miss Pennsylvania Scholarship Organization and St. Luke’s Hospital. She loved to play pinochle and was an avid bingo player.

SURVIVORS: She will be lovingly remembered by her daughters Karen L. Assetto and her husband Gary of Allentown, Lorie J. Cressman and her husband Lloyd of Bethlehem; sons James L. Stoll, Jr. and wife, Merrisa of Bethlehem Township, Thomas R. Stoll and wife Cindy of Allentown; grandchildren, Ryan M. Cressman, Karla A. Cressman, Tyler M. Stoll; sister, Lucille Miller of Ormond Beach, FL.
