Jean Hendrix Wilkinson, age 70, of Shalimar, FL, went to be with the Lord on April the 9th, 2007.  Jean was born in Alamogordo, New Mexico on January 23, 1937.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Louis Andrew Hendrix and Elizabeth French Hendrix, brother William Holland Hendrix, and sister Ellen Hendrix Dodds.  She is survived by her husband of fifty years, George Edward Wilkinson of Shalimar, FL, daughter, Katrina Wilkinson O’Brien (Christopher Patrick O’Brien) of Winchester, TN, son, Andrew Raymond Wilkinson of Shalimar, FL, grandchildren, Jennifer Leigh O’Brien, Daniel August O’Brien and Kenneth Shea O’Brien of Winchester, TN, sisters-in-law, Laura Wilkinson Ballow of Lucedale, MS and Billie Cook Hendrix of Seattle, WA, and many nieces and nephews.

 

Jean attended the University of Arizona and graduated from the University of West Florida.  She was a charter member of the Republican Club of Okaloosa County and served on the Okaloosa County Republican Executive Committee.  She was a member of the PEO Sisterhood, Chapter GP and DAR.  She worked in real estate for many years on the Emerald Coast.  She served the Town of Shalimar as Administrative Official and Town Clerk.  She was a loyal supporter of her husband in his thirty year career in the United States Air Force.  She loved playing bridge with her many friends and taught bridge at the University of West Florida Lifelong Learning Center.  She was a member of St.
