WALLINGFORD – Jean Thompson, 91, departed this life on June 17, 2018 at the Masonicare Health Center. She was the beloved wife of 53 years to the late Robert Thompson. Jean was born in New Haven, CT on November 16, 1926 to the late William and Agnes (Dooling) Eaton. She grew up in New Haven and attended school at St. Mary’s H.S. and Southern CT State University.
Jean lived a long and productive life and traveled frequently with her husband, Bob, after retiring from her library position at Middlesex Community College. She loved her family and cherished her friends, especially Theresa and Bob Manning, with whom she created a very special relationship. In most recent years, she developed other close relationships with her neighbors at Ashlar Village. Her caring companion, Al, watched over her for the past two years as well as her friend Michael who would always bring her extra coffee. She was also very appreciative of the close and helping relationships she had from Ann and Maggie of Pilgrims Harbor. Jean’s family will always be indebted to them for their special care after Jean’s husband Bob passed away. Her family would also like to send their thanks and special thoughts to the staff at Mid-State Hospital and Masonicare Hospice (ACU).
Jean is survived by her four children; Bill (Linda), Rory, Steve (Lina), Linda (Charlie) as well as her daughter-in-law Rosinya. She also leaves behind four grandchildren; Natasha, Michael, Erin, and Melissa and six great grandchildren; Maddalyn, Ava, Abigail, Sophia, Gianna, and Renzo.
